 What is a tracking trial?
A Tracking Trial is a sport/activity that utilizes your dogs strongest asset: their ability to follow a scent trail. The activity is designed to replicate the finding of a lost person or item. The overall competition needs to be assessed fairly so the scent that the dog is tracking is not manipulated or deviated from a manner that would actually depict an individual who is wandering in different directions. The direction of the scent is straight-forward and clearly defined. This sport/activity requires a dog harness and well as a lead line.
